Walt Disney World is one of the best destinations to celebrate Thanksgiving with your family and friends. There’s no doubt that hopping from one park to another can make you feel a bit “hangry.” Thanksgiving Day is mostly quiet at Walt Disney World, and most of the parks are busy decorating for the holidays. It’s the perfect time to eat some delicious food and enjoy the sights and sounds of the upcoming holiday season.
At the time this article is written, Walt Disney World has not announced any participating restaurants for 2019 Thanksgiving Day. However, this list is likely to be the same as last year. Keep in mind that most of the restaurants have limited reservations available for Thanksgiving dinner at these parks. You’ll find more options available at lunch rather than dinner.
#1 — Liberty Tree Tavern at Magic Kingdom
The Liberty Tree Tavern is the perfect place to enjoy a classic Thanksgiving dinner. This Colonial Williamsburg-style restaurant features classic comfort foods such as pot roast or roast turkey. This restaurant offers both lunch and dinner on Thanksgiving Day. You’ll notice that this eatery pays tribute to some of the greatest in history, including Benjamin Franklin, Betsy Ross, and Paul Revere.
# 2 — Garden Grill at Epcot
You’ll want to make sure to reserve Thanksgiving dinner at this spot since it’s very popular among families. The Garden Grill can be found tucked inside the Land in Epcot. This rotating restaurant offers a family-style meal that’s not your typical Thanksgiving fare.
At the Garden Grill, you’ll enjoy bread and honey butter and a fresh salad before the main course arrives. The Thanksgiving dinner changes from time to time, but mostly includes turkey with cranberry sauce and stuffing. There’s also a “catch of the day” that comes with jasmine rice and tangy dressing. The adults will get to enjoy the side of beef and mashed potatoes while the kids will eat up the macaroni and cheese. It’s slightly different from what you’re used to on Thanksgiving Day, but it’ll still be a hit with your family.
#3 — The Hollywood Brown Derby at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
The Hollywood Brown Derby is mostly known for its famous Brown Derby Cobb Salad, which is inspired by Bob Cobb, the owner of the original California Brown Derby. But this restaurant has plenty of other delectable offerings such as poultry, steak, and seafood. This is the place to go if you want contemporary American cuisine for a change. Don’t forget to finish off your meal with the iconic grapefruit cake with cream cheese icing.
#4 – Tusker House Restaurant at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
The Tusker House embodies the flavors of Africa. It’s the perfect place to find an exotic lunch or dinner if traditional Thanksgiving food doesn’t thrill you. There are also vegetarian and vegan options available. Here at Tusker House, there is something for everyone.
#5 – Planet Hollywood at Disney Springs
Planet Hollywood will be serving up a Thanksgiving feast on Nov. 28, 2019. According to the Walt Disney World website, this dinner features an oven-roasted turkey with cranberry sauce, gravy, green beans, homemade garlic mashed potatoes, and southern-style cornbread stuffing. Dinner is $24.99 for adults and $9.99 for children.
#6 – Liberty Square Market at Magic Kingdom
Maybe you couldn’t book a reservation or you don’t have time for a sit-down meal, but you’re still craving turkey. Have no fear. You can still get your turkey fix at the Liberty Square Market, located at the Liberty Square Area in the Magic Kingdom. Drinks, fresh whole fruit, and turkey legs can be found at this open-market stand. You can still enjoy a satisfying piece of turkey and some healthy snacks as you get ready to visit the next attraction.
#7 – Fife & Drum Tavern at Epcot
The Fife & Drum Tavern, located at the American Pavilion, is a prime hot spot on Thanksgiving Day. It’s home to some American food favorites such as the Jumbo Turkey Leg and a large bucket of popcorn. Other goodies include the American Dream Slush, root beer floats, and soft-serve ice cream. You can enjoy some of the best America has to offer without booking for table service.
These are just some of the restaurants that have food available on Thanksgiving in 2019. It’s also possible that buffet and table service throughout the Walt Disney World resorts will feature one turkey-inspired dish on Thanksgiving. If you’re planning to spend some time at Walt Disney World on Thanksgiving Day, you’ll want to make sure you enjoy it the right way.
