There are a lot of fun things to do with families in Nashville. Of course, there are also fun things to do without children as well. Broadway is one of the top destinations in the country for country music and partying fun. It is actually one of the top places to go for bachelor and bachelorette parties.
Broadway is loaded with honkey tonks, restaurants and an overall good time.
If partying isn’t on the agenda, football fans can catch a Tennessee Titans game. It’s not too far from Broadway and if one is looking for a little exercise they can even take the famous John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge, and get to the stadium. If football isn’t your thing, visitors can also catch a Nashville Predators NHL game.
Those who want to learn more about country music can also hit up the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. During their visit fans will learn all about country music through exhibits, publications, and educational programs. The Museum teaches its diverse audiences about the enduring beauty and cultural importance of country music.
The museum is often referred to as the “Smithsonian of Country Music.”
After the family has learned all about country music, they can head to the Grand Ole Opry. Legends and popular artists still perform there. There are also tours if attending a show isn’t possible. Or, perhaps you can do both.
Right next to the Grand Ole Opry is the Nashville Gaylord Hotel. Plus, one of the popular malls in Nashville is right next door as well. While visiting the mall and perhaps picking up a new pair of cowboy boots, you can visit The Aquarium Restaurant. In the middle of the restaurant is a huge aquarium. The ambiance is relaxing and those who love tropical fish and stingrays will really enjoy themselves.
Other things to do in Nashville
Those looking for more history can also go to the Nashville Parthenon. This incredible building is a full-scale replica of the original Parthenon in Athens Greece. It was built in 1897 as part of the Tennessee Centennial Exposition.
Visitors can pay a small fee and go on a self-guided tour through the Parthenon as well. Inside there is beautiful art, tons of history, and also many artifacts. There is also a 42-foot statue of the Greek goddess Athena.
Outside the Parthenon are more historical statues to look at and admire. Plus, there is a beautiful pond that includes beautiful gardens and a park bench dedicated to Taylor Swift.
Visitors can also take a short drive from the Parthenon to see the famous Vanderbilt University.
After all the exploring no doubt everyone has built up an appetite. One can’t visit Nashville without experiencing Nashville Hot Chicken. Hattie B’s is a famous location to try out the chicken. Of course, there may be a long line but once you take the first bite you’ll realize it was worth the wait.
There are different levels of heat depending on what your mouth and stomach can handle.
Of course, these are just a few things to do while visiting Nashville. There is also the Nashville Zoo where families can visit the animals and enjoy family time. There are also tons of other museums to visit as well as other hot chicken locations.
The Nashville Farmer’s Market is also another hot spot to visit. It’s a popular spot for locals as well as visitors.
