How many of you have dreamed of visiting Branson, Missouri? This tourist spot can be expensive just like any other place you travel. Don’t let that ruin your plans for a Branson vacation though, because it is possible to visit Branson, Missouri on a budget. If you live close and can drive there, that alone will save a lot of money.
Start with the free stuff
One of the best things you can do to visit Branson, Missouri on a budget is to start with the free stuff. Table Rock Lake is one of the popular places people can visit for free. There are beaches, camping, fishing, dining, and sightseeing. Historic Downtown Branson is also a great place to check out for free. Just walking around and taking in the city is something a lot of people like to do on a budget.
We also love to check out Branson Landing. They have a ton of shops and a few things you can pay to do, but they also have a fountain show and it is a great area to just walk around and enjoy the view.
Set a budget for the things you’d like to do
When it comes to visiting Branson, Missouri, you have to set a budget for yourself. There are tons of places to eat and shop, but you just need to know how to put a limit on what you’re doing. When it comes to breakfast, a buffet is a great way to eat a ton and save some money. Starvin Marvin’s is our favorite for breakfast, but if your hotel has a free one take advantage of that as well.
Set a limit for souvenirs as well. While you could buy $500 worth of souvenirs for everyone back home, it doesn’t mean you need to spend that and they probably don’t really care what you bring back anyway.
Go for the cheaper tourist attractions in Branson
After you’ve set up a budget and even done some of the free stuff, it’s time to dig into the cheaper tourist attractions. The Shepherd of the Hills Trout Hatchery is a really cool place for families to check out together. The Branson Centennial Museum is a way to get an up-close and personal look at what life used to be like in Branson. Another obvious fun and free thing to do is check out the Scenic Drives and Overlooks. You can even get around town by riding the Downtown Branson Trolley for free!
Go for ONE big attraction
You should know that Branson, Missouri is FULL of big attractions. Unless you’re rich, you can’t possibly do it all. My advice is to pick ONE big attraction and do it with the family. Some of the more expensive but popular attractions in Branson are Silver Dollar City, The Branson Coaster, and America’s Fun Park. You won’t run out of fun things to do in Branson. You’ll run out of money before you run out of entertainment, which is why being choosy is important.
If you pick Silver Dollar City, then you can spend an entire day there! You can get a discount ticket if you decide to go to Silver Dollar City and White Water Bay both. If you choose to go to the Branson Belle or Dixie Stampede, you will spend a bit on tickets, but remember this includes your dinner so that will save you the price of one meal.
If you have never visited Branson, Missouri before, it’s time to go. What attraction do you plan on visiting first? If you have been there in the past, let us know your favorite thing to do.
