Disclaimer: The Destination Seeker got free tickets to White Water Bay in exchange for this review, but the opinions here are my own.
When you are in Oklahoma in the summer, you really just want to be somewhere to fight off the heat. It can easily be over 100 degrees for days in a row. White Water Bay in Oklahoma City is the perfect place to beat the heat. I remember going here as a child and recently just took my kids back to enjoy it. We have gone a few times over the years and it just keeps getting better every time.
At White Water Bay, they have several various slides plus a lazy river and a wave pool. This wave pool is a normal pool and then every so often they have waves going in the pool. They also have a small area that is set up for children with small slides and no deep water so they can stay safe even if they can’t swim yet. You don’t want to miss the area with the lily pads the kids can try to balance on and hope they don’t fall into the water.
One of our favorite slides is big enough for four people to fit into a tube together. It is one of the newer slides at White Water Bay. It is called the Big Kahuna. It is a flume slide that has a four-feet deep pool at the end. We love this one, but make sure you go early because the line for this one can get pretty long later in the day.
White Water Bay has food available to purchase along with drinks, but if you want to bring your own food from home, you can bring in an ice chest and leave it. You are only allowed to have this food in a certain area, but it is a great way to save money on your meals while at the park. They do charge a very small fee to leave your ice chest with them, but it is worth it to have healthier options and also not have to spend the money to eat food at the park. We still always want to buy Dippin’ Dots or a Sno Cone, though.
When planning your trip, remember that they do charge for parking and of course, to get into the park. Bring your own sunscreen, goggles and of course towels to save money while you are there. If you do forget something, White Water Bay offers a small gift shop to purchase these items. My husband did have to pick up a pair of sunglasses and the prices were not high at all.
If you are in Oklahoma, don’t miss out on the chance to take your kids to White Water Bay. This is a great place to have fun and get out of the heat. They are open all summer long. If you are looking for more fun, also check out Frontier City, which is full of fun rides plus a water area to keep you cool as well.
